Established in 1985 Ballycotton Seafood is a family owned and run fish and seafood business. We have developed our business based on providing the freshest fish and quality artisan seafood using the best of fish and natural ingredients. Today we have our own boats and we have a number of boats that land their catch exclusively to Ballycotton Seafood. We are able to select the best of the daily catch for our customers. We offer a huge range of fresh fish, smoked fish and shellfish along with our range of artisan oven ready seafood products. Because we are located close to the fishing grounds on the south coast our day boats bring us the best of what the sea has to offer.
We are not just fish mongers, Ballycotton Seafood is a one stop shop for your fish and seafood requirements. We have our own smokehouse. Here we employ age old traditional techniques when smoking fish. Our traditional techniques have passed from one generation to the next and this continuity ensures we provide premium smoked fish. Ballycotton Seafood Smoked Salmon is sold through our own shops to hotels and restaurants to our customers in France.
We also have a very large commercial kitchen where we make our artisan chowders, seafood pies, sauces and breaded seafood. Again we use traditional cooking techniques and we only use natural ingredients sourced locally when making these products. We cook and bake on a daily basis for our shops and you cannot get fresher than that!
Today we employ over 40 people in our fish plant and shops. We rely on the loyalty and support of our customers and we strive to retain this support by offering the best fish, seafood and service we can. Staff in Ballycotton Seafood shops will take the time to discuss the fish and seafood on offer daily. They will help and give advice if needed when selecting fish. They will also fillet and prepare the fish as required. They also share cooking and preparation tips based on knowledge and experience gained over time.
To ensure we maintain our standards we have invested in our business through the years. We have a fully licensed fish plant on the shores of Ballycotton Bay. We have the necessary food safety management systems to ensure that the fish landed to us is handled and processed to the highest standards to ensure that it is in the best and freshest condition when it reaches our shops and customers. We have 4 Fish Shops located in the Old English Market Cork, Midleton, Glanmire and Garryvoe. We supply the Food Service Sector in Ireland locally and nationally and we export to France, Spain and UK.
